4月30日は、UNESCO と Thelonius Monk Institute of Jazz (現 Herbie Hancock)の提唱で制定されたInternational Jazz day / 国際ジャズデイ。毎年4月30日に開催されるグローバルコンサートは全世界に配信されているが、2020年、南アフリカ・ケープタウンで予定されていたグローバル・コンサートは中止となり、オンラインでのヴァーチャルコンサートが開催される。ハービー・ハンコック、ジョン・ビーズリー、マーカス・ミラーを中心にオールスター・ジャズ・ミュージシャンが参加する他、クラシック・ピアニストのランランの参加も注目だ。
