アルバムを通じて永井晶子のサウンドに接する者は、まずはその多彩さに眩暈を覚えることだろう。実際のプレイを目の当たりにするとさらに驚かされることになる。
ピアノのタッチは非常に強力であり、未知の演奏に踏み込んでいく出足は俊敏で強靭だ。そしてニンテンドーDSは音のスパイスなどではなく本気のギアであり、リアルタイムで取り込んだ音を増幅して四方八方に解き放つ。音への誠実さと探究の野心、横への拡がりと楔を打ち込む深さとが、ひとりの中に同居しているわけである。
曲はすべて永井の手になる。その流れは永井の個人史でもあるというから、冒頭曲はすなわち「石の上にも三年」、修行時代だろうか。たしかに物語的な展開でもあり、そのために、ヴァイオリンやトランペットの音が「曲のなかのソロ」というよりは「場面」として立ち現れる。
本盤は、ニューヨークで高く評価される永井ならではの現代的な作品であり、かつ極私的な表現でもある。
